I found some nice, old-school rap videos from the Queen and Salt n' Pepa:
What I loved about Salt n' Pepa is how they were sexy, they talked about sex and men, but they also demanded respect. They didn't say stupid shit like "I don't know if this (rape) has happened to me or if I just drink too much..."
And all hail the Queen. Latifah rules. Period. While she might not have been all sexy like Salt 'n Pepa, you sure as hell didn't try and mess with her.
What the hell happened to the good female MCs? It seems like they're all gone now.
Maybe I need to make a playlist of this for Benevolent Dictator when she gets older.
