While watching this six-minute trailer about Return of the King, I started squeaking hysterically.
Jeff, who was in the other room, asked, "Are you alright?"
"Yes! Hobbits! Faramir and Eowyn!" I squeaked. "Houses of Healing! Hobbits! Faramir!"
"You haven't even read the book," Jeff pointed out as he held me for a few minutes to calm me down before I went into fangirl shock. Yes, I know I haven't read the book -- but that doesn't stop me from loving this movie and squeeing like a 13-year-old chick on TRL.

I am squeeing right along with you. I can't wait for this DVD to come out. Most of my Xmas vacation will be spent with it. But I hope Faramir and Eowyn's scenes are a little more romantic than than are in the book. In the book ,it's basically "oh hey, you're a chick, wanna get married?" You have to do a lot of reading between the lines. Tolkien wasn't good with the romance.
I hope they do more with the romance, but I also trust that David Wenham and Miranda Otto can convey the right emotion. Hell, even the line, "Let's just get hitched," can be romantic with the right emotion behind it.
