And now for something completely serious...

Nick and Jessica are breaking up (or are they? DUN! DUN! DUUUUN!)

*cue the sound of a needle being pulled off a record player*

Actually, what I'd like to write about is to bring attention to the earthquake in Pakistan, which has left 200,000 people homeless and without food or shelter.
After Hurricane Katrina, I know that most of us are disaster-pooped, but I just wanted to say that disasters aren't unique to America.

It may not have the same morbid disaster-watching fascination as Katrina because it's so far away and so foreign to us, but these are people too, and if anything, they might not have the same resources we Americans do.

It's been really quiet in the news, what with Bill Bennett making a grade-A bonafide jackass of himself, DeLay getting into trouble, and someone with about the same qualifications as I have being nominated for the Supreme Court.

So yeah, just mull it over, check out Oxfam, the Red Cross and other folks and see what you can do to help out.

*hops off soapbox*
