Happy New Year!

This weekend was spent enjoying a lot of Chinese food as Jeff and I, along with a lot of friends, raided Nam's Noodles on Regent Street to celebrate Chinese New Year. With excellent Chinese food and a private karaoke room for about two hours, it was a wonderful night of fun and frolic (I mean, how can you resist eating a bunch of good Chinese food while singing "Oops I did it again"?).

It's going to be an interesting year for us -- our baby will be born in the year of the pig, and apparently this is a very auspicious year to have a, well, piglet. The babies this year are supposed to be especially intelligent and healthy, one of the reason why China may be encountering a baby boom soon this year.

However, this year may not be great for world affairs, according to Raymond Lo, feng shui practitioner:

It is anticipated that there will be more international conflicts and disharmony which will even lead to regional warfare, uprising and unrest, or over throwing of the government in certain countries.

You know, last year I said that if you wanted me, I'd be under my bed, because of how the astrological forecast went. If it wasn't for the wee one (who's probably one lucky little girl), I'd say you could still find me under the bed.
