For folks that know us, we've been doing Thanksgiving at our house every year since Jeff and I got married. The whole tradition started when Jeff's parents moved to Florida. Instead of going to my mom's she comes over here to eat with us (Now, I love my mom to death, but my memories of her roast turkey are less than stellar).
This year's gotten a bit crazy. We've got 10 people (including me and Jeff) coming over -- Mike and Em, Erich, Mom, Grandma, Stella, Dan and the wee one Elliott. That's a lot of people, and a lot of food.
I just finished my grocery list and it looks like I'm getting ready to head out for a month of being holed up or something: turkey, onions, mushrooms, green beans, vegetable broth, cans of cream of mushroom soup, shredded cheddar cheese, french fried onions, garlic salt, Jiffy cornbread, eggs, sausage, black olives, water chestnuts, pine nuts, fresh sage, white wine, crushed red pepper, rolls, diced ham, Betty Crocker hash browns, green peppers, Bisquick, milk, a 12-pound turkey, garlic, oranges, lemons, onion, fresh rosemary, oregano, herbs De Provence and cinnamon rolls.
Whew. That's a lot of food. Hopefully the leftovers will be worth it, as well as the company.
